Mingqiang Xu is an accomplished professional who currently serves as the Chairman of CTTIC Smart Data. With a master's degree and the prestigious title of professor-level senior engineer, Xu has dedicated his career to various sectors since 1998, including shipping administration management, maritime investigation, beacon management, marine surveying and mapping, as well as comprehensive management. He holds notable positions within esteemed professional organizations, such as the Marine Surveying and Mapping Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping Geographic Information and the Polar Navigation and Equipment Professional Committee of the Chinese Navigation Society, where he demonstrates his expertise in polar navigation. In 2021, Xu became a member of the Science and Technology Committee of the Second Shanghai Transportation Commission. Apart from his professional engagements, Xu has been recognized for his significant scientific and technological contributions, receiving accolades such as the first ever Chinese Nautical Society Outstanding Figure Award in 2019. He has published 18 papers in reputable publications, actively participated in numerous major technology research and development projects, and received special awards from the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Nautical Society, solidifying his position as a leader in the field. Notably, Xu has twice been awarded the first prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Nautical Society and has also been honored with the third prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Award. One of his remarkable accomplishments includes leading a team in developing an integrated port and navigation platform that utilizes global shipping big data fusion analysis and multi-source heterogeneous data sharing interface technology. This groundbreaking platform encompasses a port pre-arrival accurate computing model, video enhancement platform, and three-dimensional port model, significantly contributing to the overall enhancement and energy level improvement of the prestigious Shanghai International Shipping Center.
