Yi Ding, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Shanghai Maritime University and a Master's Supervisor. He serves as a doctoral industry advisor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an adjunct doctoral advisor at the University of Hamburg in Germany. Dr. Ding is also the founder of Miluo Information.


With almost 20 years of experience, Dr. Ding specializes in optimizing and digitizing port, shipping, and logistics operations. He has led significant national and provincial projects and managed large-scale information technology teams. Notably, he has played a key role in developing the globally leading "Large-Scale Port Digital Twin System." His innovative systems, including machine vision, intelligent loading, intelligent stacking, dynamic scheduling, port digital twin, virtual reality, hazardous material control, port machinery operation, and port big data analysis, have been implemented in major ports such as Shanghai Port, Xiamen Port, Dalian Port, and Nantong Port. In addition to his industry contributions. Dr. Ding also provides consulting for the Shanghai Port Big Data Platform and collaborates on the development of the Port Digital Twin Control Platform with SIPG. His achievements have earned him prestigious accolades, including the Special Prize for Teaching Achievement in Shanghai, the Special Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the China Ports Association, the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, and the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Shanghai. Dr. Ding's academic research achievements are outstanding. He has published more than ten SCI papers in top-tier journals with international influence, such as INFORMS Interfaces/TRB/CIE/MPM. He also serves as a reviewer for multiple domestic and international core journals. In addition, he has authored two academic monographs: "Container Port Integrated Resource Allocation and Cost Control" and "Blockchain-driven Reconstruction of Port Industry Business Processes." Dr. Ding has also obtained over 30 invention patents and software copyrights.
