Matthew Qi graduated from Shanghai Maritime University. During his time at Shanghai Shipping Exchange, he was familiar with and mastered a large number of shipping basic knowledge and practical operations.

In 2010, he resigned and founded Beyond Shipping. In a short period of time, it became one of the leading media in the shipping industry in China. Mr. Qi has been awarded the honorary title of Top Ten Outstanding Youth of Lujiazui and the Shanghai May Fourth Youth Medal. He is also the Secretary General of the Shanghai Maritime University Alumni Entrepreneur Association and the Shanghai Youth League Committee.
