Oyvind Sekkesaete holds extensive experience within alternative fuels, GHG regulations, and energy efficiency measures for shipping. He has played a key role in DNV's Maritime Forecast to 2050 publications, looking at future decarbonization pathways for the maritime industry.

He has also contributed to DNV studies commissioned by the IMO, looking at the cost impact of EEXI and CII requirements (2021) and the readiness and availability of low- and zero-carbon ship technology and marine fuels (2023).

Oyvind was the main author of DNV's White Paper looking at Biofuel's potential in shipping, released last May. In his current role, one of Oyvind's focus areas is to guide shipowners towards the development of robust and cost-optimal decarbonization plans, safeguarding future profitability.
