Capt. David Lu
General Manager, CMA Ships Shanghai

Following his graduation in 1995, Capt. Lu began working for China Shipping and steadily climbed the ranks. In 2002, his dedication and proficiency led to his promotion to the esteemed position of Captain.


In 2007, Capt. Lu transitioned to CMA CGM, where he made significant contributions by establishing the Fleet Navigation and Support Center in Shanghai. As a manager, he played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of the center.


The year 2008 marked another milestone in Capt. Lu's career as he assumed the responsibility of recruiting cadets and marine officers for CMA Ships. His efforts resulted in a substantial increase in the number of senior Chinese sailors serving on CMA CGM fleets, which now stands at an impressive count of 580.


Recognizing his expertise and leadership qualities, Shanghai CMA Ships was established in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone in 2014. Capt. Lu, as the company's founder, took up the position of Deputy General Manager. In this role, he oversaw various critical aspects such as Chinese seafarers' management, new shipbuilding, fleet upgrade, and other fleet-related activities in China.


Continuing his journey of success, Capt. David Lu was promoted to the position of General Manager in 2020. Under his guidance, the company underwent re-registration in Lingang, marking a new phase of growth and development.
